PREMIUM EXPERIENCE 2022

Unique and innovative are two terms that could define this experience created by the team for 2022, where the distance between Segovia and the mythic climb of Lagos de Covadonga will be covered while sharing miles and anecdotes with our pro riders. Wine tasting in La Ribera del Duero, personalized cultural visits or a boat ride across the Bay of Santander are some of the activities that will give a deep sight of these regions.

For this seven-day journey we have carefully handpicked the best accommodation and restaurants in each area so there is a chance to delight in recently fished seafood from Cantabrian Sea, have meal in a Two Michelin Starred Restaurant or rest after the ride in a 16th century palace. As we show the reason why these territories are chosen by La Vuelta organizers year after year, the team staff will be responsible for supporting the experience to make sure you have an unforgettable week on and off the saddle.

Due the uncertain times we live in, the package includes insurance against Covid-19 cancellation charges and preventative measures will be taken during the tour.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival – Segovia

Burgos Bh Team will pick up you in Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas Airport and we will head to the first stop of the week, Segovia. There will be free time to discover this city, outstanding by its Roman Aqueduct and unique Alcázar. Later in the afternoon, a welcoming dinner will take place to make a briefing of the journey ahead.

Day 2: Wine tasting – Burgos

Early in the morning we will transfer to La Ribera del Duero, an area in the Burgos Province that is internationally known by its unique wine quality. An easy bike ride along vineyards will drive us to Valderiz Winery. Once there, a fully personalized tour and a wine tasting will take place right before being delighted by roasted lamb accompanied by high-quality wine.
In the last part of the day we will arrive in Burgos, which will be the home for the group during the next two days.

Day 3: Sierra de la Demanda – Ezcaray

Early in the morning we will be off to Huerta de Abajo, where the ride of the day will start. Cycling through thousands of pine trees and along large reservoirs, we will recreate the third stage of Stage of La Vuelta a España 2021. With two mountain passes and unique sights during the ride, we will have time to make a coffee stop in Pradoluengo before arriving at Ezcaray. Once in this mountain village, we will enjoy a meal accompanied by premium wine in Restaurante Echaurren, recently awarded with 2 Michelin Stars.  
After the meal, there will be free time to discover the city center of Burgos and rest before the days to come.

Ride of the day: 82 kilometers, 1080 meters of positive gain.

Day 4: Burgos

Anyone who has seen the first stage of La Vuelta 2021 (ITT), will recognize the final part of today´s ride. But, before covering the last circuit of that stage, we will go for an easy ride in the surroundings of Burgos, including El Alto del Agulión. During the ride, we will go into the Cathedral of Burgos to have a guided visit through this 13^th century jewel of the Gothic Art.
Restaurante La Demanda will be the host where the participants will have the choice to taste the considered best meat dishes of the entire region. Gastronomic personalities like Martin Berasategui have already expressed their admiration towards this place.
After having lunch, we will transfer to Santander to check in into the Eurostars Hotel Real Santander (*****), a luxury hotel in front of the magnificent bay of Santander.

Ride of the day: 50 kilometers, 412 meters of positive gain.

Day 5: Santander – Cantabrian Sea

The first part of today´s ride goes parallel to the Cantabrian Sea, getting a privilege view of this unique coast. Right before we´ll face the Alto del Churi climb, that has been scenery of La Vuelta a España stages. For the final part, we will arrive at Pedreña, the coastal village where the well-known golf player Severiano Ballesteros was raised.
If the weather accompanies (and we expect so), we will jump aboard a touristic boat that will carry us across the Bay of Santander.
To restock on energy after the hard day on the saddle, Restaurante La Mulata will prepare a wide selection of fresh seafood and fish dishes accompanied by white wine.
After a speech given by a Sports Director with years of experience, it will be time to discover Santander and its nightlife, to have some tapas in the famous Cañadío Square.

Ride of the day: 90 kilometers, 1050 meters of positive gain.

Day 6: Asturias – Cantabrian Sea

Starting in the fishing village of San Vicente de la Barquera to finish in the heart of Picos de Europa, we will enjoy the greenest landscapes of Spain going into Asturias region. Once we arrive at Cangas de Onís, you´ll have the chance to climb up “Los Lagos de Covadonga”, a mythical stage in most of the La Vuelta Editions. A team car will support the climbers in every moment, so they can jump into if that’s necessary.
Starting our way back to Madrid, we will stop off at the Parador de Lerma (****), an emblematic palace from 16^th century, to have a unique dinner and sleep.

Day 7: Lerma – Madrid Airport

Early in the morning, we will enjoy our last luxury breakfast before heading to Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. Time to say adios!

Professional support

For the entire journey the group will be supported by experienced staff, which has taken place in some of the most challenging competitions worldwide.
Team soigneurs will be in charge of the nutrition and hydration of the group, offering practical knowledge on performance and health.
A professional mechanic will clean and revise the bikes after every ride and, in case of puncture or mechanical failure, a team car will be behind the riders on each stage. Since security is a priority in this tour, experienced drives with thousands of kilometers on their backs will drive the participants on each transfer.
